LATEST NEWS!

Congratulations to Sydney's Glenn Smith who captured a monster 132cm, 80 pound barra from Lake Awoonga.  1kg off the current world record for Barramundi. Well done Glenn.

Also, a big congratulations to Barramadness regular Chris Webster for capturing his PB barra, a 125cm Awoonga winter special.  With four captures over 124cm on charter this year, who knows what the summer will bring?

Jeff Manson:
I have been on a dozen or more Barra trips in both Qld & the NT. None of the fish on these trips have been of such a size as the monsters that Jason put us onto.

I fished with Barramadness both in Winter & Spring & got my 1st 2 Barra over a metre. Highly recommend this very professional operation.

Stan Konstantaras:
I first fished with Jason in August 2008 and was blown away by the service and the experience. Most good guides and hosts rely on repeat customers to keep their business going and Jason is no exception.

The fish are really a bonus when you are having a great time.

Jason will have had the pleasure of our company for the 3rd time in 6 months when January 2009 ticks over, why ? Because the guy is the ultimate host. He picks you up from the airport, feeds you, puts a roof over your head, busts his gut to catch you fish, which he does on a seemingly regular basis and then when your trip is over drops you back at the airport.

David and Nicholas Czislowski:
TThanks again for such a great and memorable time we had a ball.

Nicholas can't stop talking about the hugh fish he caught and I don't think he will let me forget that he landed the biggest fish for the trip.

We will definatly be coming again next year to see if we can land one bigger than 115cm.

I just wanted to drop you a quick thank-you note for all your effort on Saturday. Sometimes, you might wonder how beneficial a guided trip can be for an individual, especially if weather makes things difficult. I just thought you might be interested to see a few notes I made for myself when I got home (as you pointed out - for my eyes only). I hope it gives you an insight into the value that I got out of the afternoon.

On your website, you list what a punter might expect to learn from a trip with you. Every box was ticked, even though there were areas that I thought I had under control. I have been on several guided trips now over the past 7 or 8 years. I found yours to be the most professional and informative of all. I have never come home from a trip and written myself notes, so as to minimise what I would forget. The extra touches are unexpected - but make a trip not just memorable for the fish, but unforgettable for the service.
Thank you again.

Richard Newton and Peter Jackson:
It goes with out saying that both Peter and I had a great time on Lake Monduran with you last Friday. We are also sure you realise that the two of us greatly appreciated your professional services on the day but unsure if you realise just how much and why. We would both like to express to you our gratitude and explain to you what it is and what you do that we found exceptional.

As a young man you have achieved a lot in the world of tournament come circuit fishing as well as media representation of a some times frowned upon sport. Your opinions are listened to and respected throughout the industry, to us you are pretty much fishing royalty. Your ability to relate to the common fisherman the finer points and technique required in the specialised field of impoundment Barra stun us both. Not only did we learn we have been enriched with nothing more than the pleasure of your company. Unlike many of the upper echelon of the fishing world you have maintained a stance with your feet on the ground, still able to remember that it is not who you have become but rather what you do with your status in fishing that is important, we found this refreshing in a young man. We have both rubbed shoulders with the best over quite some years, some of whom are less affable toward the ordinary fisho, more interested in their image and ego.

As old fishing mates over the years we have both fished in many parts of the world. We have been guided on several occasions by some of the best anglers on the face of the planet but you are the best guide we have used by a country mile. Your success is due to many things mainly hard work and dedication we would imagine but there is one other thing we never want you to looses sight of. With out the support of your wife none of this would be possible. Please always remember that she is not there just to make us a great lunch, she sacrifices a lot every single day so you may peruse your ambition of being the best guide. Please thank her from us, look after both her and your boys as we are sure they all would have preferred you at home instead of on the water with us last Friday. Fishing and being the best guide are important but not as important as your family.

Best breezes, hope to see you on the Dam one day in the future

Regards
Richard & Peter

Ben Bradley:
We just returned from Lake Awoonga it was an experience that won’t be forgotten for many years to come.

Having towed my own boat from Sydney the plan was to fish with Jas and Barra Madness first and them but into practice what we had been taught to catch more “Big Barra” for the rest of our trip.

We weren’t disappointed the professionalism, knowledge, skill, techniques and hospitality that Jas and the Barra Madness team showed us was unbelievable.

After fishing with Jas for a couple of days and catching a heap of good fish including 2 over the magical “Meter” mark it was our turn to do it alone.

We put into practice everything that Jas had taught us and it wasn’t long before my boat had claimed its first Metre fish, with another boated the following day. A lot of fish hit the deck of my boat in three day.

Catching the best fish of your life starts with fishing with the best and as the side of his boat says Barra Madness is “The Ultimate Barramundi Charter” there not wrong and you won’t be disappointed.

Trent Thorne:

Jason

I thought that I would drop you a quick message following our recent trip to Lake Awoonga on 20 & 21 February 2010.

From my perspective, the charter completely exceeded my expectations. I had been looking forward to fishing with you after I first saw you featured on iFish at Lake Monduran in early 2009. The boys and I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and we learnt an unbelievable amount despite the adverse conditions.

Not only are you two steps ahead of the Barramundi, but you were two steps ahead of our requirements. Your attention to detail was impeccable and it is clear that you spend just as much time off the water getting things spot on for your clients. Most importantly, the fishing is so much more enjoyable when your guide is also a good bloke.

Since I have been back to work, I have checked the photo of my 100cm barra at least once an hour to confirm that it really happened. It has long been a fishing goal to crack the metre barra and I can’t believe that I have climbed the mountain so to speak. It is easy to see how people can get addicted to this form of fishing.

I know that I will definitely be back and I assume that I will not have to twist the lads’ arms too hard to get on board for another session. With that in mind, I will contact you in a few weeks to discuss your availability for a charter early next year i.e. January/ February 2011.
